Absent again

Dear all,

Oxygen at the A&E!
Migraines can be hell-on-Earth! After getting oxygen & some shots at the emergency ward (A&E)

I’m in hospital. They’re trying to stop this 6-week migraine ๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿคฏ and today we’ve made some progress! ๐Ÿ‘ It’s my first hour with no pain. ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ˜

I won’t be there next Monday and Tuesday. And probably Wednesday and Thursday, too, BUT

you’ll get an email from the School confirming my absence if that is the case, AND

you don’t need me all the time, so please, consider meeting in class to read together the C1 Resource Pack — it’s precious for your learning — and comment and prepare questions, for instance. Ana, the janitor, can open the room for you.

I hope to be in tip top form the following Monday.

Hopefully, you will have been using your English like merry maniacs and I’ll be celebrating your progress as I listen to you all and answer your questions.

Have a lovely bilingual week!

    • Thanks so much, dear gaditana!

Language tip: Take care OF yourself
Typing tip: the apostrophe is somewhere else on tour keyboard, on the top row

  1. So sorry to see you like that! But you are a warrior and I’m sure that this illness won’t stop you!
However try to slow down and recover as soon as possible,so that you can be back in the saddle again!!!

    • Sweet Amparo,

      Thank you for your concern!

I’m very much into professionals, and not afraid of this terrible pain, so my time here is not being scary. Plus, I am eating 4 times a day!!!

If I were here for something that made me scared, like having a deadly illness or something related to being intubated with an NG tube — EEK!!!!! — I would not be able to control my fear! โ˜บ๏ธ But bearing known pain, painful as it is, is something I can take.

Anyway, I do need to get over this crisis, so thanks again!

      Big hug!

  2. I’m sorry to say I’m not well. I might be absent for a couple of weeks. Hopefully, they’ll send you a substitute teacher. Please, help her or him with this blog. I’ll also assist her or him.
Don’t let this interrupt your learning, come on!!
    Kind regards,
    Your teacher in exile

    • George!!! Thanks for your kind & generous message. I do appreciate! And all that love you send me from you all has given me good energy to post the Ngozi project above, so we all feel more focused and relaxed, right?
      I hope you enjoy it!
I will take good care & be back soon for a wonderful learning year in your company!

  4. Dear Michelle, I hope you get well soon. Although we miss you, it is very important you recover totally from your migraine, so take the time you need for that.
    Best regards,

    Alicia (from C1.1)

    • Dearest Alicia!!!
My words to George above apply to your message too. Last night I read them both and could not believe it! I was really happy! I thought that because we had just spent a few lessons together, all that magic might be lost in the midst of hardship and obstacles, and frustration might settle and lead you to disconnect.
Don’t break your link with learning. Learning is amazing! It’s the best we have in adult life! And sharing our learning, learning together, too!
So when I saw your kind & loving & generous messages I was hopeful!
So I woke up at meds time, that’s like 4 hours before my usual wake up time, and felt really inspired to post a little proposal for you all so we can stay focused and connected!
      Thanks so much!
      Big huge hug!
Have a beautiful week, dear all!
